Alternative Medicine (AM) is an approach to wellness and healing that is built upon of theory
and practice that have evolved through the centuries of experimentation and belief. They often are considered to be effective
long-term cure for the ailment under consideration. Conventional/Western or allopathic approaches, on the other hand, seem to
offer temporary benefits. An example of an AM approach is using a special diet to treat cancer instead of undergoing surgery or
chemotherapy as is the case with the Western approach to cure.
